A little bit about me and my journey…..

Maryam Riaz  – BA (Hons), MA (Psychological Therapies) PG Cert Counselling and Interpersonal Skills and PG Dip Counselling and Psychotherapy.

MBACP – (Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I have extensive experience of working in health and social care setting, providing pastoral care and support for those struggling with serious health and anxiety problems. I have also worked in adult mental health and was part of the founding team for Ihsan Counselling Service Bradford when it first launched.

Prior to this I worked with children and young adults with learning difficulties and mental health as a support worker and health advocate for clients and families.

Although the roles have varied, throughout my career, the heart of my work has been to provide support and guidance to help vulnerable clients improve their lives.

Supporting people through challenging and vulnerable times has been the inspiration to start a counselling service. I see counselling as an anchor which brings calm and understanding through challenging times.

The clients and families I have had the privilege to work with have taught me the difference compassionate care can bring, so it was a natural step for me to adapt a humanistic philosophy to my counselling approach. Working in a person centred approach I help you find the way forward that is right for you by facilitating your inner potential.

Healing can be a journey – ‘Therapy For You with Maryam Riaz’ can help you on life’s journey.
